Taste testers will be available in the Canteen throughout the evening.
In our Music Room you will find keyboards and glockenspiels and you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to play ‘World in Union’, the Rugby World Cup theme. Tableaux and essence machine drama techniques, related to rugby movements, can be found in the Drama Room. In ART2 you’ll see the creation of rugby themed collages.
Mathematics and Numeracy
Visit Maths to take part in the ‘guess where the ball is’ coordinate activity and other maths problem solving activities. See our Chromebooks with MathsWatch – the maths software that can be accessed from home - every YBE learner has individual login details!
Visit Humanities to map the countries that are competing in the Rugby World Cup. History will take you on the journey of rugby and sport. Wellbeing activities will be available in Religion, Values and Ethics. All taking place on the F corridor.
Visit G1 and G2 for MFL themed activities and G5 and G6 for a true Welsh welcome. They will be offering quizzes and games relating to Wales, France, Germany and Spain, all with a rugby twist.
Explore English in a creative and fun way. Located in G5 and G8 – come along and join in the fun!
Cymru a Fi
Visit ICT03 to learn about our bespoke Cymru a Fi course for all Year 7 and 8 learners. This course is designed to encourage our learners to enhance their knowledge and understanding of Welsh language, history and culture.
Visit Science for hands on experiments in Sc1 and Sc4. A treat not to be missed is the ‘Science Show’ which will take place in Sc5 twice during the evening
Smile big and get ready for an unforgettable Open Evening at our school's ICT department! They’re setting up a camera station for you to snap photos and edit backgrounds, so come join the fun and let your creativity shine!
The DT Department will be making ID tags using aluminium and will provide the opportunity for you to have your name engraved onto acrylic rugby shaped ID tags.
The Health and Wellbeing Department will be continuing our rugby theme in a more practical way! They invite you to visit them in our Sports Hall and will be showcasing some of the teams who have been competing in the school’s World Cup Tag Rugby Competition. The Fitness Suite will also be open for various fitness challenges.
Taste some treats from around the globe in Food Technology. This is also where you can meet the Year 7 Transition Team to get more information about our extensive transition programme.
